Are We Blind?

In a day and age where all we talk about politically is how far apart we are on the politically red vs blue scale – it blows my mind that we as a people cannot realize that our system is failing us completely. It was put in place to represent the voice of the people, but somehow we have come to a point where we back the party instead of it backing us.

Tax cuts are my favorite thing to talk about. Do you know that when we reference our highest bracket – the one with the current 2% cut for people who make over $250k per year only actually represents the top 2% of our population? Do you also know that Republicans represent essentially 50% of the congress currently in place, and have unified to not raise that number, no matter how much it benefits the rest of the population? Now put that together – 2% of the population control 50% of congress – the sense there is indisputably off, but unfortunately its a fact.

Now we can look at any number of arguments shown on the other side of this argument and I would be willing to be the most common one mentioned would be that that top 2% of Americans pay that majority of the taxes in the USA. And that’s correct, AND fair, but a stupid point nonetheless. 43 million Americans do NOT pay any taxes – they must be evil! Oh wait, no, instead they are just ridiculously poor. You’re talking about a family of 4 making a bit more then I did the first year I had a job (at 16).

We need to open our eyes and do whats right for our country and our people – or soon we’ll be one of the countries looking up at someone else as a “superpower”.

An Insignificant Rights Movement?

How would you feel if you were missing significant rights that were allowed by most others in the United States, and no matter how hard you pushed, rallied, or paraded around to become an equal people wouldn’t listen? And when I say people, I don’t mean everyone – I mean a sum of people who essentially just scream louder then your right back but instead of using facts – they bullshit, and slander what you say and what you know to be right just so that they can hide all the other (and truthfully more important) bullshit that’s happening at the same time.

Well, welcome to the day to day of the gay community in the United States. You know the group that cannot profess their love of one another through a legal marriage document in a majority of states and claim what should be rightfully theirs in the form of benefit sharing and tax breaks. Funny thing is that’s really ALL politics are limiting them from – a piece of paper, and sharing of benefits. Why is it so important to keep this away from a subset of our citizens? Why does it even matter?

Here we are pushing for tax cuts on the top 2% of American’s because God forbid they pay 37% instead of 35% on the income over $250k/year, but F the idea that equality should reign true. The fact of the matter is, that although I would want this to be significant enough to be remembered 20 years down the line – if it is, it will be because of the stupidity of even limiting it for this long to begin with. Like I said – things like this, keeping benefits from a people are only around because they make you look left instead of right. And whats on the right? 2 wars in the middle-east where 1,000,000 civilians have lost their lives, tax-cuts for those who don’t need them, and the largest separation of the 2 major political parties in the US that most can remember.

Awesome deal right? Win/win? Not.

Mo’ Money

Reply to Blog by @S500Show – Check it out here: http://s500thoughts.tumblr.com/post/8258619361/currency-exchange

If money is an idea, its the best one that has ever been created. I don’t know about everyone else, but I would rather carry around 5 notes, then have to walk around and protect 200 coconuts, 5 shiny rocks, and 2 sheep. Barter worked when we were a simpler civilization, but as we expand, and as we found and find different markets – different trades – etc, we need something with “commonality” and linkage so that we’re able to have a base understanding of goods cost.

Thinking that international rates, and the US’s credit rating has no bearing on Americans as a whole is an unfair assessment. Sure the minority that purchase international goods, or convert money often will view the changes in a more direct manner, but when your sneakers (made in China) go up $20, or bananas (shipped from South America) cost $1/lb because the US Dollar isn’t worth what it used to be anymore, I am sure you’ll get a little upset. Think about it – things aren’t even the same size they used to be. Go get some Eddy’s ice cream, its 2/3rds the size it was in 2007 and has the same price tag. Blame that on the struggling economy and a dollar that isn’t as strong as it was back then.

A. We need a strong economy to compete as a nation and for individuals to have the spending power they want in a GLOBAL economy. B. Money only controls those who let it control them. My biggest motto is “make money work”. If you’re always going to put yourself into debt, then you’re screwed, but as soon as you understand saving, investing, and making your money work for you then its a additional revenue source. To site @S500Show “money forces you to wake up, go to work, obey supervisors, cash a paycheck, pay bills and repeat that cycle for as long as you live” – but that’s only true until you have the money – then the tables turn for you.

Be a boss – not a puppet. Don’t use a disposable, take a view at the big-picture.

AOLWNN5

3 in this one since I am getting a bit tired and aggravated.

Friend: I think that it is weird that you don’t speak at work but still invite XXXX to your parties.
Bad Guy: Well I have no choice – she’s still family.
Friend: Fuck her.
*Punctuation and spelling has been corrected.

No reply back for “Fuck her”? Well there is that defense thing again. Happy you’re laying down a nice example to follow. Replication will be simple. Also, don’t feel obligated to invite people – and if you do, at least don’t say it – that was a pretty low blow, and if that’s really how you feel maybe we should shoot a memo the family implementing that as a rule holistically. It would definitely save time and money during party planning and people wouldn’t have to throw on fake smiles – win/win.

Bad Guy: XXXX doesn’t turn on the radio anymore because it bother her game playing concentration.
*Punctuation and spelling has been corrected.

Forgot that the radio is only operational by one person in the office. What technology does it use that only ONE person in the whole office can turn it on? Its called being lazy, and not just turning it on yourself or for some ridiculous reason being able to not just…. ask? Realization!

Bad Guy: I got in on time. And XXXX – late as usual.
Friend: LOL

I would laugh too with all the lies you tell. Like this one for example – maybe you could have made mention that she pulled into the lot right after you? No. You’re right – its way cooler to just make something up. That’s what I would do – you know – if I were an asshole. But like I mentioned in the intro – letter A – I’m not.

So – yea. That was fun overall. I mean – at least for me. It got some of the stress off my chest for reading through the conversations you have had and deciding in certain cases to miraculously create details or change some important facts. You kind of remind me of a Republican – but that’s stuff for another post that’s more politically aimed. Nonetheless – I hope you learned something from all of this, and please don’t reach out. I really need no words of apology or anything directed my way – this is simply a matter of opinion and overall has changed my view of you minimally.

And before you play victim again, and tell yet another lie – just remember your saying of “Talk to me if you have an issue, don’t go behind my back” is crap if you don’t live by it yourself. And if I am making this all up how do I know about the woman who throws around her title, the bipolar friend, the sexist boss, the nagging family member, etc (and that’s just 4 mystery characters). Lets be serious – the word is hypocrite.

Or maybe its… Karma. “chugga chugga chugga chugga — toot toot”

AOLWNN4

Bad Guy: Well we got a Keurig for the office.
Friend: Wow who footed the bill for that? I would LOVE a cup right now.
Bad Guy: Well, believe it or not XXXX, Coworker1 and I were going to buy one, and XXXX mentioned it to Boss1 and of course he said “Don’t worry, I’ll get one”.
Friend: And he buys the coffee too!!!
Bad Guy: Yup – XXXX orders whatever she wants.
Friend: OMG – Boss1 is so pussy-whipped.
Bad Guy: Yea its no joke with him here.
*Punctuation and spelling has been corrected.

1. You told Boss1 that you were going to get the coffee maker – not XXXX so there goes that BS story of XXXX gets whatever she asks for. 2. XXXX ordered the coffee one time in December, and the last time anyone else did you ended up with packs that no one drank. So darn – another reason bites the dust. And 3. Going back a couple posts to AOLWNN1 – remember how you said XXXX doesn’t stick up for you? Well good job sticking up for here when the pussy-whipped comment came up. I mean really – Boss1 being pussy-whipped by XXXX? What an insinuation.

I am building more and more of a picture of how mean you are – but that’s fine, everyone is mean – everyone hides their anger every now and again, everyone. But when making things up just to throw yourself a pity parade and someone else under the bus is a daily activity there is something wrong. Unfortunately I am no psychiatrist so my recommendation is another post in an hour!

Enjoy.
